Movie Review: Dear White People (Essay Sample) Content: Name:Course:Instructor:Date:IntroductionThe past is always within us or it is even never a past. The movie Dear White People is a representation of the American nation. The fictional Winchester University represents a vast population of the whites while the four black students represent the few African Americans amidst the whites. The whole movie is a mirror reflecting the whole American nation and how issues of class, gender and racism are of great impact to the nation.Racism is a big topic in the movie. It plays a big role for the separation between the whites and the blacks in the American nation. Though they all share a brown body, this has less contribution to them. An old woman after analyzing the movie gets so much amazed that the issues she was tackling about 50 years ago on her fight for racism are the same issues the movie is addressing. The new director in the University of Winchester tries to handle the issue of cultural topics and racism with lots of sensity and thoughtfulness to avoid controversial in the school.Coco though dating Troy believes that she can never be the true wife but just a side chick as she is black while Troy is a white. Coco is a rebel to her black race. She keeps on trying to where the mask of the whites. She only dates the white, keeps on straitening her hair and at night you will find her dissing the white girls in the You-tube as a struggle to become a celebrity. All these are done to help her get identified.Though Sam wins against troy during the dorm elections, she shows lack of interest in being a leader due to her stand in the racial grounds. She has potential interest and the love for the blacks which is not the case for the other whites. This makes her radical due to her radical black agenda she carries out in camp us. Gabe; his white boy friend refers to her as a tragic Mulato.. The movie tries to explain how some students have privileges over the others due to differences as a result of social class. As for the example of Kurl; the sons of the deputy dean of students and the Troy the son of the Winchester dean of students have status over the others. Troy is given much support by the father to become a student leader, while Kurl, though a criminal students is able to escape a number of punishments.Gender is an...
